What contractor would ever think to build a new home for his neighbor who just happens to be a retired architect with a Type A personality – JD Taylor – that’s who. JD was an absolute pleasure to work with, from start to finish. Not only is he a perfectionist who oversaw every detail of our renovation, but he also did what no other contractor has ever done — he finished exactly when he said he would. JD’s work product is second-to-none, he is easy to deal with and shockingly accessible, and he actually oversees your project (no handing off to random strangers you’ve never met before). JD also stands by his work, and followed through and addressed any issues along the way. The person who introduced us to JD told us we would finish the project and actually stay friends with him. That’s absolutely true. He is a great guy and a top-notch builder.

Building our home in Rumson was the best building experience we’ve had and that’s a tall task considering its the 5th home we’ve built. What sets Taylor Built apart is J.D.’s attention to detail, his communication skills, transparency with pricing and speed and efficiency during the process without sacrificing quality. The caliber of home they build is unsurpassed in custom home building and we are so excited to have begun our second project with them.

When we were shopping for a home in Sea Bright, we were fortunate enough to visit a home that was nearly finished by Taylor Built. We were impressed with the architectural flow, energy efficiency, and wonderful story height that included an elevator with Ocean and River views. JD and his wife Ally were very flexible and worked closely with us to pick and choose personal preferences for the final touches! After the home was built, JD continues to be very responsive supporting any warranty needs and overall support. We feel that he is a builder that you can really trust, is hardworking, and reliable.
